CARL F. CLAVENNA, M.D.
(Board Certified Ophthalmologist)
Dr. Carl F. Clavenna is an acclaimed Troy / Birmingham LASIK specialist who helps patients in Troy, Birmingham and other communities in Michigan achieve stunningly clear vision through advanced laser vision correction methods. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Albion College in Albion, Michigan. He graduated as Valedictorian from Georgetown University in Washington D.C., with a Master’s of Science Degree in Human Physiology and Biophysics. Dr. Clavenna graduated as Valedictorian from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He completed both an internship in Internal Medicine and his residency in Ophthalmology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Since 1993 Dr. Clavenna has been a board certified fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Clavenna has been performing vision correction surgery since 1993. He currently teaches at William Beaumont Hospital and is actively involved in the development of its excimer laser program, teaching refractive and cataract surgery to Ophthalmology residents for many years. Dr. Clavenna is a member of the following associations: American Board of of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, International Society of Refractive Surgery, Michigan Keratorefractive Society, Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Michigan State Medical Society, and Oakland County Medical Society. In 2007 and 2009 Dr. Clavenna was selected as one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.
In October 1999, Dr. Clavenna underwent vision correction surgery to correct his nearsightedness. With the help of his personal experience with vision correction procedures he has a better understanding and compassion for his patients concerns and needs. He is dedicated to providing both the quality of care and technical skill his patients deserve. Dr. Clavenna is committed to personalizing vision care by avoiding the assembly line type of care provided by so many others.
GREGORY B. FITZGERALD, M.D.
(Board Certified Ophthalmologist)
Dr. Gregory B. Fitzgerald received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Michigan State University. He graduated with honors from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, with a Masters of Science Degree in Human Anatomy and Cellular Biology. Dr. Fitzgerald graduated in the top of his class from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed both an internship and his residency in Ophthalmology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Since 2002, Dr. Fitzgerald has been a board certified fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Fitzgerald has been performing vision correction surgery since 2000 where he learned his technique during residency training. He currently teaches at William Beaumont Hospital and works with the residents to help them develop their surgical proficiency. Dr. Fitzgerald, a board-certified ophthalmologist, has been a regional director and board member for the Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Michigan State Medical Society, the Oakland County Medical Society, and the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery. In 2007 and 2009 Dr. Fitzgerald was selected as one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.
Dr. Fitzgerald prides himself on giving complete and personal care to all of his LASIK and cataracts Birmingham / Troy patients. He finds the capability to change the lives of his patients both rewarding and satisfying.
